I have never posted on this topic but I had this happen to me and wanted to know what people think.

I was just a kid and was flying by myself to visit my sister. I was 14 and had flown alone before but was still a little nervous waiting for the flight to board. A man, probably in his mid 30’s, approached me and asked if I was waiting for this flight thinking we could have been traveling together. I simply answered yes, we exchanged a few pleasantries and he walked away.

The flight was a morning flight and I had just grabbed some water so that I could take my morning medication when the boarding announcement came over the speaker. The man asked if I was ready to board with him so I said yes I was just going to finish my water. He waited for me and we walked to the plane together.

We boarded the plane and I told him my seat was 17d and he said we had the same seat just on the opposite side of the row (17c) so we took our seats and waited for the plane to load.

We made some small talk. I told him I was flying to visit my sister and asked about his plans. He said he had a week long conference and was a lawyer. So I asked him what type of law he practices and he said elder law.

The flight attendant came over with her cart and offered a selection of snacks and drinks. I asked what she had and she said chips, pretzels and cookies. I said I didn’t see the bag of pretzels. She said no we ran out and the next flight wont be restocked until we land.Brian snapped at her and said excuse me? We ran out? No pretzels? I asked for pretzels. She said I’m sorry sir but she offered me crackers instead of pretzels.

Now things took a turn. I was getting a little uneasy because he snapped at her and I thought he was over reacting for a simple bag of pretzels. She was making her way down the aisle and I could hear him muttering under his breath.

He then stood up and reached across me to the middle console between the seats that held a small storage for headphones. He grabbed them and put them on and started to watch the monitors on the seat backs. He then laid his head on the tray table and closed his eyes.

The flight was a short flight and only lasted about an hour. I was amazed he fell asleep so fast.

We were starting our descent and he laid his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes. I panicked a little. I didn’t know what to do but didn’t want to make a scene so I sat there like that for the rest of the flight.

Once the flight attendants announced we could use our phones I texted my sister and told her the flight pusher story. She simply texted back “Brian?”, needless to say that was a little freaky.

We landed and taxied to the gate and I stood up to gather my things and push my seat back to the original position. Brian stood up and reached across me again to open the storage bin and put the headphones back.

He then said “Looks like we’re here. I guess I’ll see you around” and took off. I let him get off the plane before me and then gathered my things and followed the crowd to baggage claim. I was so relieved to be on the ground and away fromBrian. He was kind of a jerk I thought.

Once I got my bags and made my way to my sister I told her the whole story and she laughed and said that’s Brian.Brian was the pusher. He would push his way into every conversation push his way through lines at the airport and push his way into seats on planes.

Brian was the passenger from hell and I had no idea.

We had a good laugh and then my sister made a joke, “Next time you’re on a plane tell them you’re with Brian and see what happens.” Haha.

So here I am. Telling the story of Brian because it is too funny not to laugh at and I could imagine what the flight attendants would say.
