CMV: Russian invasion of Ukraine is justified

This is my first Chambers post ever and I'm Russian. I'm writing this post in hopes of having an honest discussion.<br><br>The Russian invasion of Ukraine is justified.<br><br>Reasoning:<br><br>\* Ukraine is being pumped with weapons by NATO, thus becoming a direct threat to Russia's national security.<br><br>\* Ukraine is also constantly being brainwashed into a hatred for anything Russian.<br><br>\* Ukraine has been committing active genocide against Russian speaking people in the Donbass region. The people there are Russian, not Ukrainian. This is the reason why the major cities of Donetsk and Luhansk speak Russian and have been part of Russia since the 19th century. There are many Russian citizens living in Ukraine, whom Ukraine refuses to let go. Russia is responsible for protecting them.<br><br>\* Ukrainian nationalism is based on hatred toward Russia and is literally neo-Nazism (see Azov battalion).<br><br>\* Ukraine refuses to uphold the Minsk treaty and refuses to grant Donbass any independence.<br><br>\* Russia has been trying to negotiate for years. We tried to make an alliance with the EU, but we were declined. We tried to negotiate with Ukraine, but they just refused to talk.<br><br>\* Ukraine's goal is to become part of NATO. What will happen when Ukraine officially becomes part of NATO and starts receiving nuclear weapons? Russia would have to make a nuclear war preemptively just to survive.<br><br>\* Crimea is Russian. Ukraine's government is literally illegal. The people revolted against the Ukrainian government and asked Russia to take over Crimea. Crimea has been part of Russia since the 18th century and is part of Russia culturally, geographically and economically. Imagine if Texas said it wanted to become Mexican again.<br><br>I understand that the current government is not the best and that many innocent Ukrainians are dying. However, this is a necessary evil that needs to happen. It's like WWII. Many innocent Ukrainians and Russians are dying, but it's necessary to destroy Nazism and protect the future of our children.
