Apologise for the format as using mobile, not used chambers for ages.

Title says it all, I was struggling to find any places to get food, so I decided to test out some shops and supermarkets from my local area.

3 low calorie meals for £2 and under ( :-) (uk based)

I wish I could work out the calories for this but I am waiting to replace my kitchen scales to make sure I can keep it accurate.

I always cook for one and have 3 meal a day, some of you may of seen my previous low calorie meals for prep that I made for £3 and under ( I prep my meals in advance as I always forget to do things and end up buying junk food after a long day at work).

I had the following for lunch.

Supermarket 1. Aldi

1 x baked chicken breast

broccoli ( a bunch of 4 heads)

1 x Jacket potato baked in oven

**Cost £1.65**

Supermarket 2. Morrisons

1 x Baked chicken breast ( :-)

1 x Bag of frozen peas and carrots ( I prep my vegetables the night before and soak them in water and bake them in the oven the next day).

1 x Bag of dried rice.

**Cost £1.75**

I feel like the big supermarkets will never be able to match Aldi when it comes to price as their business model is just too different, but I can't see how they can compete with Aldi's prices.

Supermarket 3. Lidl

1 x Baked chicken breast

1 x Bag of frozen green beans and asparagus

1 x Bag of dried pasta.

**Cost £1.80**

So whilst I feel like the big supermarkets will never be able to match Aldi's prices, I feel like Lidl is so close that, if they dropped the price of their chicken breasts to £1 like Aldi, it would send them into administration overnight.

The only reason I would go into a big supermarket is if I wanted to buy products that I can't find at Aldi. I also don't like to put people out of business, also, I feel like the big supermarkets are just doing a regular business, I don't think they are doing anything wrong.

But this is all just my opinion, I also find the way people talk about Aldi to be quite rude and to be honest I don't want them to go out of business as I know what that can do to people, I've seen it happen to people I know when they have lost their jobs and businesses. I don't feel like any regular business deserves to go out of business.

I know, that this is all just my personal feeling on this.

Here is my shopping list for just over £5 for 3 low calorie meals, I was also given a voucher to spend in store, so this will be spent elsewhere.

:-) (can't post photos)

This is my prep plan for lunch.

:-) (can't post photos, sorry)

I find the frozen vegetables to be just as good as fresh and more convenient.

I always cook for one and have 3 meal a day.

I sometimes struggle with my mental health, so when I am low, I just tend to buy junk food because I am in a rush and can't be bothered to cook.

But after a few days of this, I end up blaming myself for my weight gain and I feel like a failure and whilst I'm not a doctor, I don't think that this is healthy.

So I always try prep my meals in advance, so I can eat healthy and feel better about myself.

I also don't want to waste food, so I always try prep my meals in advance.

I know this is a battle that many people face and when combined with a busy life and mental health issues, this can be a massive struggle. I also don't want to waste food as every time I do, I feel like such a failure.

When I feel low, I don't want to be alone, so I try and do things, like this that makes me feel better.

I also feel like prepping my meals helps me deal with things and I feel better about myself when I can eat healthy and not waste food.

I know it seems strange, but, I just want to feel like I am doing something right and not failing, its just my weird brain.

I also don't want to waste food so I always prep my meals in advance and this also helps me to eat healthy and feel better.

Also, I sometimes struggle to let go of food, so I always read the date on my food, sometimes I forget to check the date and I end up throwing the food in the bin.

I tend to feel like the big supermarkets always have food that's close to its sell by date and that's why I struggle with food waste, as I end up eating it when it's still in date and then when I try and cook the food, it's gone off and I end up throwing it in the bin.

When I am cooking for myself, I tend to overcook, so I also find that meal prepping and cooking helps to reduce food waste for me.

I will usually always cook for one and have 3 meal a day.

I always try to save myself time, when I am low, I tend to buy junk food as its always quick, easy and convenient and I can eat in a rush.

But when combined with mental health issues, this always ends up in me blaming myself for my weight gain and I also find it unhealthy and unhygienic.

When I feel low, I always try to prep my meals in advance, I have 3 meal a day and I try and do things that make me feel better about myself and my mental health.

I also don't want to waste food, so I always try to prep my meals in advance and reduce food waste and save myself time and money and eat healthy.

I find prepping my meals helps me deal with low days and I always feel better mentally and physically.

I know this is a big struggle that many face, so I always want to try and help.

I hope I have helped in some way.

x
