Google is to shut down Stadia, its cloud gaming platform

In a shock move, the firm said the system failed to gain enough market share.<br><br>Stadia will wind down over the next few months and shut on 18 January 2024.<br><br>It was launched in 2019, offering a high definition, console quality gaming service without the need for additional hardware.<br><br>The firm said it would refund all purchases made through its store.<br><br>It is the second high-profile shutdown of one of its services this month.
