My mom said... I wish I had been childfree

My mom had me when she was barely 16. I am her only child. She was poor and our lives were hard. We struggled to have a warm apartment, food and clean clothes. She regrets having me. She said it was too much work. She said she missed out on her youth. She hated not having money for anything. She is glad I'm doing well now but she wished she had a better life, and had been childfree. She often says it. Has said it since I was little.
