How the heck do you study for calculus before the first day of class?

I'm used to teaching myself stuff before the semester starts but this is a weird case. Everyone says that calculus is a class where it all kinda comes together and you learn to relate everything you learned in precalc, high school algebra etc to a new way of doing math. That sounds like something which you really can't prepare for before getting a new framework of study.

I'm probably being paranoid and I'm prepared to learn but how the heck do you even study something beforehand when you don't have a framework to hang it on?
