It's that time of the year again, and I've got a few questions.

Hello everybody, I'm a member of r/maine, and I've been reading this chamber for that last few weeks, trying to educate myself about how to deal with these critters. I've posted a few times there to ask for help. Some people have been very nice, and posted some good ideas, but I want to make sure I can get rid of them. Apparently, our area is flooded with them this year.

We had a few bugs around the house last year, and we thought they were harmless, but they also didn't come inside. This year, I have counted 12 in the last 12 hours, and it's just the two of us. Our house is around 1500 sq feet, and we're afraid that we're going to be swimming in the damn things in a week or two.

We have cleaned the house, caulked around the windows, swept up the leaves, and done everything that we can think of to prevent them from getting inside, but it doesn't matter. We find 1 or 2 a day. We don't even have any trees nearby, so we don't know where they're coming from.

I'm planning on using diatomaceous earth around the outside of the house, and some essential oils to keep them away. I'm going to clean up the yard again tomorrow, and that's about it. The idea is to keep them out, not kill them. I've posted on r/HomeImprovement, but I'm not sure if they'll have any helpful advice.

If you have any suggestions, throw them my way.
