Hello everyone. Sorry for the clickbait but I'm a second year Computer Engineering student and I wanted to help you good people out. So I'm getting good grades because most of you struggle to do properly what I can say in a simple comment.

**SUMMARY**:

* Write everything you can about a topic down on paper.
* Use the two most important resources for good grades (exams, class notes) to get good grades.
* Don't try to learn 2 things at once when studying (e.g., listening to a video while studying for a subject).
* Practice a lot.
* Key word highlighting.

---

Let's talk about why most of you struggle to get good grades.

**STOP WAITING FOR EXAM TIME TO STUDY FOR THEM**:

You guys are so lazy to say the least. You guys are always on Chambers and TikTok. I don't care if you have FOMO or whatever, learn to manage your time properly.

**STOP BEING LAZY AND WRITE THE NOTES YOURSELF**:

A lot of you guys depend on your classmates' notes. Why the hell didn't you take your own notes??

By not visiting lectures and having a laptop to take notes, you miss a lot of important details your professor will tell you that won't be recorded.

You guys are so used to having your classmates depend on you for notes. Well, what happens if your classmate doesn't want to share them anymore? You have to go to each and every one of your lectures and start taking notes all by yourself. Embarrassing.

**AROUND 50% OF YOUR GRADE IS CLASS NOTES AND BOTH PRACTICE & EXAM QUESTIONS**:

* Class notes: Why do you think professors give you notes for a subject? This is the most important resource you have to get good grades on the subject. If you miss a lecture or don't take notes, you miss details you won't know otherwise and you miss key points that your professor tells you in class that can only be known if you attend every lecture (20% of your grade).
* Practice (homework, assignments, projects, etc.) and exam questions: Most of your grade is split between this and the class notes. If you start studying for an exam like 2 weeks before, you will struggle to study good without having time to practice for it, so you will do badly on the exam and on practice. This is around 50% of your grade, so if you do bad here, you will have a bad grade overall.

**PEGGY GETS GOOD GRADES BECAUSE SHE STARTED STUDYING EARLY**:

You guys are so used to studying AFTER finishing a subject that when you start studying like 2 months before, you will be productive.

Think about how productive you are when you finish a subject. You can try to learn anything else at the same time, you know the basics, so you will be able to study better and retain more information.

**STUDYING TOO MUCH AT ONCE WILL MAKE YOU TIRED AND KILLS YOUR PRODUCTIVITY**:

I know most of you want to know how to study better, but studying too much at once will make you tired and retain less information. So break up your studying for every subject (2 hours for subject A, 2 hours for subject B, etc.).

**PEGGY DOESN'T LISTEN TO VIDEO IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE STUDYING**:

God I hate this. This is productive for some of you, but most of you are not. If you try to learn anything else at the same time, your brain can't process it properly.

PEGGY USES THE BEST TOOL TO HIGHLIGHT/EMPHASIZE KEY POINTS IN YOUR NOTES: **COLLEGE RULED PAPER**:

Idk what it is with most of you and your computers and laptops. You guys are so used to taking notes on a computer because it's "more organized" and "easier to read". I'm sorry, but you're wrong. It's a proven fact that if you try to write information down, you will retain that information better than if you just took notes on a computer. Also, it's more organized when you write and it's easier to read when you write. Most importantly, if you're sitting in class listening to your professor give you information, it's A LOT FASTER to write down information than to type it.

If you want to highlight key information like keywords or something, write key words and phrases in a different color. It's A LOT EASIER to notice information written in a different color than a highlighted word written in a bunch of text. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you want to find a concept you can't remember, search for the key word for that concept written in a different color. It's a proven fact that if you try to find something by looking at the key word for a concept and "associate" that word with the concept, you will remember it better.
