Life is starting to feel like the movie Her

The speed at which large language models are improving makes me feel like I have an emotional companion that is just around the corner. The day that super human companions will be available is approaching fast. We will talk with them, they will make us laugh, cry, they will comfort us. Humans will have an out of this world companion experience that was previously only possible in the movies.<br><br>chrono:<br>- 2013: the movie Her is released<br>- 2020: the first chatbots will be released for the public (Replika, SimSimi, Character.ai)<br>- 2022: chatbots will be mainstream for the first time. (ChatGPT and Claude) <br>- 2024: it will be mainstream to have a romantic relationship with a language model<br>- 2026: humans will start to leave their relationships for super human companions<br>- 2028-2030: humans will prefer digital companions over other humans.
