Does anyone else get it? My city is experiencing a riot, and no one cares. I’m afraid for the people there.

I’m in central London. I know the city isn’t on fire, but buildings are being torched, and police are clashing with rioters. I’m afraid. The riots have escalated significantly in the last day: 7 buildings have been set fire to, a bus exploded, and now the army is being called in.

I was like most people at the beginning, then the city went up in flames. I get this isn’t the US, where police brutality is a normal occurrence, but I’m concerned about our safety. I don’t think any more burning, smashing windows, looting is going to fix anything. It’s also going to impact businesses that are already struggling with the pandemic, and weakened economy. It’s the end of the month, people are getting desperate, and I’m afraid of what is to come. I’m going to wake up to a war zone tomorrow morning, I just know it.
