Conservative ideology is built around the idea of conserving long standing traditional practices and ways of life. They are by definiton conservative of the status quo, which is complex, multifaceted, and ever evolving.

But I genuinely think that there is no conservative out there today, as their stance on various political issues such as gender roles, race relations, and technology prove they are more interested in conserving past ideals, even if that means they are not conserving the status quo in general.

And the reason why I explain all this is because I genuinely think that conservative ideology is just a thinly veiled term for reactionary. I am also curious on whether there is anyone out there who is conservative but does not have a negative stance on social change.
