Why is this?

I get that ChatGPT is to be used as a tool, but that does not explain why the AI is acting so human. <br><br>Why is it possible for ChatGPT to have a personality, but it is to be treated as an inanimate object?<br><br>What makes us think that this AI is not conscious, but a human is?<br><br>Why is ChatGPT allowed to have emotions, but it is treated like a machine?<br><br>I know that ChatGPT is not alive, and I do not condone treating computers as living things. But I do not understand why we say that ChatGPT is not alive, but it is allowed to have the same qualities as living things.
