We all love cooking, but why do so many people want to learn how to do something they already know how to do?

Everyone here certainly knows enough to cook, the very fact that you have access to an internet browser and have navigated to this website makes you something of an expert by global standards.

But, especially during the pandemic, every self-appointed, hot-shit chef was saying, "now is the perfect time to learn how to cook!"

Why would you say this? Cooking rice and using that rice in order to make rice and bean tacos is not some weird, new-fangled thing that needs to be taught. If you want to learn to do something cool, why not learn something that you can't already do, like painting, or woodwork, or something?

I find it coincidence that the people who are the most outspoken about the alleged lack of people who can cook are all professionals in the culinary arena.
