I have a great app idea. When you post here, an AI checks if it’s actually unique. If it’s not, then more than 50% of the comments should be “this already exists”. Stereotype ideas from the retarded masses should be treated as such. Our collective time is being wasted reposting old ideas.

I’ll give you an example. I wanted to make an app that reduces your app usage by slowly turning your screen black. I did some research into the idea and found an app that already exists with this functionality. This takes time. I shouldn’t be treated like a dumbass for not knowing that this app already exists. I should be applauded for posting an app idea and then immediately removing it because it’s not a good idea.

I know this app idea exists, but I want to create a more sophisticated and user-friendly app to replace it. I don’t want to simply do exactly what the AI says. I want to do what a normal human would do - test the app, see what it does, and maybe make a better app.

You should be able to show an AI an idea, and have it show you the closest comparable apps. The AI can show you the app’s features, and explain why it’s better/worse than your idea. If your app idea is actually good, then the AI can show you how to actually make it, so you can do it yourself.

EDIT: I should maybe explain how the app should work. You tell the AI an idea, and it shows you a series of yes/no questions. The AI then asks you a few more questions about your idea, then compares it to other apps. It then shows you the apps that are most similar to your app, and asks you if you want to see the features of those apps, and how you can make your own app. It’s like a virtual therapist - it helps you understand your ideas better, and how you can make them a reality.

It’s silly that people are judging this app idea because they think it’s been done before. It’s okay to have already done something before. In fact, most of the time, it’s actually better to improve an already existing app. When Steve Jobs found out about the multi-touch screen, he didn’t say “oh well, that already exists”. He took the idea and ran with it. He didn’t invent the multi-touch screen. He made it useful.

Similarly, when you use an app, you might see an idea and think “I wish this app could do [insert feature here]”. This app is like that, but for every app. It’s an app for every app.

EDIT: I should probably explain how this app is different from a search engine. When you look up app ideas on a search engine, you have to do everything manually. You have to look up apps with features you want, and you have to manually compare them. You have to create a pros and cons list, and then create another pros and cons list for the cons. You have to look up how to create the app, and then read books about how to make the app. It’s a very long process.

This app eliminates all of that. The AI does everything for you. It not only compares app ideas, but it helps you figure out how to make your own app. And it tells you why your app is good or bad.

EDIT: I should probably explain how to create this app. First, you create a list of different types of apps (media, games, productivity, etc.). You create a list of features for each type of app (for productivity apps, things like calendar integration, gamification, chatting, etc.). You then create a list of different questions, with different weights for each feature. When someone inputs an app idea, the questions ask them to determine each feature’s weight. Once they determine the features and weights, the AI shows them the closest matching apps. The AI then can show them how to make the app, if they choose to do so.
