Can a single mom afford to stop work after bringing a second child?

I currently have a 2 years old son and working a normal 8-4 job, but I feel exhausted after work and the holidays are not enough for me to spend quality time with him. I want a second child but I'm afraid of being super overwhelmed and unable to focus on both kids. One of my friends had a similar situation and decided to quit her job so she could be with her children but she says she has a huge struggle to live with one men's salary alone so now she's asking all her family and friends for money. I'm a little hesitant to make the same decision but I hate keeping my son in daycare because he's continuously sick and the daycare doesn't have the best reputation and I don't want to miss a milestone. I'm not sure what to do because my husband has a good job but he still makes under $70k and we live in a city with a high cost of living.
