How do I defend myself legally with a gun?

So I recently joined this chamber and people are posting self-defense stories and such. But I have run out of patience to find any resources on how to LEGALLY defend myself with a gun. <br><br>Does anyone have a link or a pdf on how to legally defend yourself with a gun? What laws do I have to be aware of? What do I do legally speaking after using a firearm for self defense?<br><br>I feel like I know the mechanics of defending myself but not the legal side which is the scary part for me. I read the law book for my state, but I want more. I want to know what I need to do to not end up in jail after defending myself.<br><br>Edit: I'm in the USA for context.
