I've noticed a trend in this sub and I feel like we should talk about it

I felt weird creating this thread but since my last two posts got a lot of attention from it I decided to go for it. I think it’s very interesting to say the least and I think it’s a good conversation to have.

I don’t know how many of you have noticed, but I’ve seen a lot of poor people with very little education and terrible credit scores giving out financial advice like buying houses and cars and investing in the stock market. I feel like I see this trend a lot on this sub and on tiktok/Instagram reels and I feel like it’s very questionable. I’m 23 years old so I’m still in the midst of learning myself, but I feel like if you have a history of making poor financial decisions you can’t give the best advice.

Age and degree don’t necessarily equate financial knowledge, but I feel like this sub has become less for financial education and more for people to get clout and subscribers. Nobody should be giving out advice if they’re not in a good financial spot themselves. Just wanted to address this because it’s very noticeable.
