Why do you want to travel somewhere when everywhere has a bed and a shower?

I just don't get travel at all. It seems like you're paying to go and be in the same economic situation as you are when you're at home just in a different place. I get that cultural differences or whatever might be interesting, I can see why people would be interested here, but actually going on a trip? It just seems arduous and pointless. Am I missing something?
