When I was a kid, my dad took me to a baseball game that was cancelled, and something very very strange happened. My Dad is too scared to talk about it, and it's still the most bizarre thing to happen to me.

My dad took me to a baseball game in the late 70s. I was about 9 years old.
When we were a block away from the stadium, we were met by a park employee saying that the game had been cancelled due to a threat.
My dad said that we would rather go in and use the rest room than drive the 45 minutes back home just to have to come back in the evening.
The employee said that they weren't letting anyone in.
He insisted, and the employee relented.
He said that the restrooms were over by an elevator, and if anyone gave us a hard time, tell them employee "Pete" said it was ok.
This was the late 70s. Different times.
We walked in and everything was dark and eerie, except for the lights above the elevator. We walked towards it.
The door on the elevator opened and a woman's voice said "going up?"
We stepped inside and the door closed and we went up.
When the door opened, we saw an older man.
He asked "where are you boys going?"
My dad said "the bathroom."
The man nodded and pointed, without saying a word.
We walked down the hall, and the man was behind us.
I turned around and he was walking towards us.
He lifted his hand like a gun, and wiggled his finger at us.
*pop*
A door opened on our right, and a woman said "Over here!"
I looked at my dad and he looked like he was in a daze.
I saw that the man was now standing right next to us, and he still had his finger pointed at us.
*pop*
The woman yelled "You poor babies!" And we ran into her room, and she shut the door and locked it.
The man started *banging* on the door and yelling at it.
My dad came out of his daze and asked "what is going on?"
The woman said "You're going to have to go into the safe room."
She hit a button on a panel, and the bookcase in front of us opened up.
She told us to go inside, and not come out until someone came for us.
We did.
It was tiny, more like a closet.
We waited for about 45 minutes.
Someone came and got us, and took us down to the parking lot.
It was then that we realized that we weren't in the stadium.
We were in an office building.
We walked all the way around it, and couldn't find a way in.
We drove home.
My dad never talked about it again.
This is the first time I've mentioned it in decades.
*pop*
