I'll be getting my laptop tomorrow so I expect to spend a fair amount of time tomorrow reading, editing and maybe do some writing too.

As such, I have been preparing for this moment. I have read my manuscript and reformatted it according to the general guidelines of fanfiction and the like, and I have put it up in both Wattpad and FictionPress. It was a little harder than I thought it'd be because I have been writing with a few notes in them, I was using * for certain things and the like that. The formats are pretty neat overall, especially the Wattpad one. But now I'm waiting for feedback, and I am aware that there's a bit of a wait; people aren't going to jump to reading my work right away.

I did have some trouble in sharing the story, because both Wattpad and FictionPress are primarily made for individual chapters of fanfics and the like, rather than actual books. I decided on splitting my book up into 8 chapters, which you could say is 4 parts.

Let's list what I did:

- I split the story up into 4 parts, roughly following a common 3-act structure
- I cut each part in half so that I have 8 chapters
- I wrote up a few words declaring that this is my first book ever, and that it is a book rather than a continuative story
- I put up a note on the first and last chapter outlining some key points about the story, such as the rating and the medium it was written in
- I copied the description from the beginning of the book and used it as the description for the story as a whole

I don't know how to promote it without yelling "READ MY STORY" but it's a really big project of mine and I want some input on it.

How can I promote the story? What's to be expected in the coming months?
