Instead of banning guns, or any other thing that’s been banned, how about we make the penalty for mass murder (defined as ANY SINGLE ACT OF MURDER OF AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE) 1000 years in prison? With no chance of parole, and no chance of any appeals whatsoever.

If you kill 49 people at a gay club, it’s 1000 years. If you kill 50 people at a gay club, it’s 1000 years. Whether it’s 10 people, 20 people, 50, etc.. it’s still 1000 years because the penalty should not be about the number of people killed, simply that at least 10 people were killed. We can punish more harshly if we want, but all that’s important is that the mass murder was carried out and it’s ALWAYS the same punishment for the perpetrator.

This is not to be regarded as something that can be pled down. If you are caught dead killing more than 10 people, even if it’s 11 people… you’re going to prison for 1000 years. This is also not to be regarded as something the perpetrator has a choice in. This is an absolute, and a non-negotiable punishment. You can’t plead down, you can’t enter a guilty plea. ANYONE caught mass murdering people at a shopping mall, school, church, bar, etc… goes to prison for 1000 years.

If someone kills 10+ people in multiple separate incidents, they simply get 1000 years for each incident without the possibility of concurrent sentencing. In other words, if someone kills 10 people then kills another 10 people 2 years later.. it’s 2000 years. If someone kills 10 people then kills another 10 people in 10 years, it’s still 2000 years.. they enter their second 1000 year sentence immediately upon finishing their first 1000 year sentence.

If someone already in prison for something else kills 10+ people while in prison, they simply receive their 1000 year sentence.. without the possibility of concurrent sentencing. For example, if you’re already serving 2 years for theft and you kill 10 people in prison, you finish your 2 years then enter your 1000 year sentence. if you’re already serving 500 years for murder (or whatever..) and you kill 10 people in prison, you finish out your 500 year sentence, then enter your 1000 year sentence.

If you’re serving 2 life sentences and you kill 10 people in prison, you serve out your 2 life sentences, then enter your 1000 year sentence.

If you’re on death row and you kill 10 people in prison, you serve out your death sentence, then enter your 1000 year sentence. (Essentially, you enter your 1000 year sentence after you die, serve out the 1000 years, then you can enter the afterlife.)

We can also create a separate prison system for mass murderers, where all 1000 year sentences are carried out if they are shorter than 1000 years (eg: 500 years, 2 life sentences, etc..) once the perpetrator enters the mass murderer prison system, they never leave that prison system. Even if their 1000 year sentence expires, they will simply enter a 1000 year work camp to carry out the remainder of their sentence. This also ensures that the perpetrator never sees the outside world ever again. Once they enter this separate prison system, they can never leave it.

And if you simply want to enter the prison system ANYWAY, we can also limit who can visit the perpetrator. The list would include their spouse, their parents, their children, and their employer (not sure how they’d have a job). No one else can ever visit again, and it must be one person every 180 days. Whether it’s their children or their spouse, it’s only one visit per 180 days and only one person can make that visit for the entire 180 days. Once you enter the prison system, you never see more than one person every 6 months.

This should be a federal law. Even if you’re in a state or local prison for mass murder, you will still enter the separate prison system to serve out your sentence.
