My boyfriend doesn't understand SA

I've posted on here a couple times about my boyfriend's spending habits. He makes a lot of money, but also spends a lot of money. <br><br>Example: he goes to a restaurant and orders a $20 cheeseburger, a $20 slice of a fancy lime cheesecake, and a $30 bottle of wine, all while driving his $50,000 SUV to the restaurant. He will also buy me a dessert to go, but I always tell him no, I'm not hungry and it's a waste of money, but he will buy it anyway and then we will throw it away because it's too rich and we are too full to finish it. Or we will order a ton of takeout and I will be like "this is too much food and we won't finish it," and then he will be like "I know, let's throw the leftovers away."<br><br>When I tell him that's too much money for a burger and a slice of cheesecake, he's like "it's fine, it's not like I'm overspending on big purchases. And I make enough money to cover this, so stop worrying." I'm like, but that's the problem, you are overspending on small purchases and buying a ton of expensive food and then throwing most of it away.<br><br>I've also told him that while he says that he's buying a lot of expensive food because he wants to treat himself after getting off of work, he's also wasting a ton of money because he always buys way more food than he can eat. I've told him to slow down and eat what's in front of him before ordering a bunch more food, because he always ends up throwing a ton of it away. He gets angry when I tell him this, and he's like "stop telling me to slow down, I'm hungry and I can eat faster than you." I'm just trying to help him not waste so much money, and he thinks that I'm just trying to police his eating habits for being too fast. He says that I'm being controlling and I need to let go and stop making him feel bad for spending money because he works hard and earns it. <br><br>I feel like he's accumulating a ton of debt just buying expensive food, but he refuses to do anything about it and gets mad at me when I bring it up.
