Dear Parents Who Are Angry About The Lockdowns,<br><br>I get it. I do. I’m pissed off too. The lockdowns are bullshit. The school shooting drills we have to run through are bullshit. Being armed and dangerous and then concealing in a classroom full of students is bullshit. Being armed to the teeth and walking around in a school full of students and staff also does nothing to prevent a school shooting. There is no reason that anyone willing to do harm should have access to guns so easily. There is no reason why anyone with a history of mental illness should have access to guns. People shouldn’t be able to take assault rifles to places outside of war zones. We all know this. The kids know this. <br><br>And even though lockdown drills are bullshit, we still have to do them when we hear reports of people with guns walking around. Even though they’re bullshit, lockdown drills are to keep your kids alive. They’re to give them the best possible chance of survival should a school shooter enter their classroom. They are run through to protect your most valuable assets. They are an absolute necessity, and they’re bullshit. <br><br>Please get mad.
