I just watched my first anime

So I was never really into anime. I watched one episode of Naruto when I was 12 and that was it. But now, I'm 22 and I decided to watch a full anime series. I just finished it now. It was amazing. I loved it very much. Nationally on the web and on this sub, I see a lot of hate for it. I don't understand why. Is it because I'm a normie and I don't understand anything about anime? I don't know.
