Is there any advantage of using Jupyter notebook? Impression from a beginner

I have recently started with Jupyter notebook for my online data science(in python) course. <br><br>After using it I have a hard time figuring out why I am using it instead of a text editor or IDE. I can do almost everything in Jupyter notebook in a text editor.<br><br>Surely, Jupyter notebook is just a tool, and the real reason I am using it in my course is that it comes out of the box in the course environment. <br><br>I have a hard time figuring out if I should use it or not in my professional project. Or if it’s just a tool for beginners to be introduced to py, DS and ML.
