How do I know if my writing is good?

I’ve been writing a series of stories for a few months now and I’m wondering whether they stand a chance of getting published and being successful. For context, I’m an adult wrote children’s stories (think Tom Storie and Jacqueline Wilson), and I’ve written 3 books so far with the idea to write 6.

I have a beta reader, my mum, and she’s brilliant, she gives me detailed feedback and her favourite of all my books is the one I think is my weakest so that gives me some hope. I’ve also had my work proof read by a local teacher who thinks they’re great.

I’m not going to lie that I’m writing for the fame and fortune. Of course that would be amazing, but I’d be happy just knowing that my books are out there and being enjoyed, even if that’s just by a handful of people. I just want to know if that’s realistic or I’m being delusional.

How do you know if your writing is good enough to be published?
