I was listening to a recent podcast episode that I really enjoyed (Nikki Maxwell hosted Courtney Cox and Thom Evans(?) and the topic of babies came up and I was hoping they would offer up some other points of view...

Well....after reading the comments on that episode, I'm shocked at the amount of people who say weird things about women who don't want to have babies or get pregnant. I don't know if it's because it's only pregnancy and baby-related chambers that I follow, but I see tons of women who are either not ready to conceive/get pregnant, or they don't want to do either at all someday. I'm kinda in a middle place where I do want to have babies, but I'm not ready to get pregnant yet, but I'm not sure I'll EVER move away from believing I need to have a bunch of kids, because I don't think I do. I feel more pressure and stress now that I'm 25 and not in a relationship, but I also know that I don't need to rush. I have friends who are on either side of thinking I'm crazy for not wanting children, or it's okay because babies are not for everyone. I'm thankful for social media, because I get to see how pregnancy and babyrearing is portrayed in a real way, but I also know to remember that it's just as important to think about how you feel about having children, even if the women you follow on instagram have a completely different idea of what it's like. If I didn't need to have children, I would adopt, because I know that I do want to be a mother, even if I don't know what I'll be like as a mom.

Thoughts?
