I've just started traveling more now that I'm an adult, and I've tried to budget for myself and save money but I feel like some people are just willing to pay whatever price for a travel experience that I wouldn't pay that for.

For example, my cousin recently went to Japan and I asked her what she did while there, and she told me that she went to the Tokyo Tower, and I was surprised by how short her trip was. When I asked her about it, she told me that she was just there for the weekend, and she was only there for a couple of nights. I asked her how she managed to do that, and she told me that she had to pay for her flight and hotel, but she was able to get a good price for her trip. I asked her how much she paid, and she told me that it was around $1,000. I was shocked at how much she had to pay for a weekend trip, and I asked her if it was worth it. She told me that it was definitely worth it, and that she was happy she got to visit, but it was a pretty short trip. I thought about it and realized that I would have paid that much for my trip to Asia last year if I hadn't used miles.

I'm curious about what other travelers would pay $1,000 for a travel experience and why. Is it a multi-day vacation to a nearby country? A weekend getaway to a big city? A trip to a nearby island? I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
