What if Earth was like Mars?

We time travel 1000 years into the future and discover that Earth has become a barren wasteland similar to Mars. How would we survive? What would we do to ensure that time went back?<br><br>Like culture, politics, religious beliefs time period, living conditions, etc<br><br>Edit: I thought this was a 10000 year jump, however, the changes would be more noticeable in that time period, and we'd be gone.
