I sometimes feel like the lonely person is always painted as the villain, and I wish they’d get happier endings.

Not sure if this has been discussed before.

There was a television show from the 90s and 00s called DH and I sort of remember the show seeing it growing up. It was a show about a kid who was less liked and how highlights his life. One of the characters had a neighbor named Wilson and his face was always covered by a fence. He supposedly had a bad past and couldn’t build a life for himself and he would often confide in the main character and the kids would get involved in his life. He was always the neighbor and never really had a life and it seemed sad sometimes.

There’s another show by the same creator starring the main character from DH but as an adult. In the same show, Wilson is back but his life has changed. He has children now and a wife and he’s more involved in the community. He’s not as lonely anymore.

There’s another show called Peanuts. It’s based on a comic strip and it’s a show about a kid who had a hard time making friends. I don’t know what the show is like but I’ve seen the specials and it just feels like he’s always alone and people bully him throughout his life. Even when he grew up and got older, he still never got a life. Even the live movies just showed Charlie Brown being happy for a second but ultimately his life didn’t really change. It’s sad. He was a kid who could never catch a break.

I don’t know if it’s me but I feel like a lot of media just portrays lonely people in a sad light but never really show a way out. There’s just a constant sadness in their lives and nothing really changes and it’s just so sad. Whether it’s the neighbor from DH or Charlie Brown, it’s always just constant loneliness.

Edit: Sorry guys, I changed my name from lonely_bean. I didn’t realize how personal it was. I changed the name so I could get higher quality content. Whether or not you believe it, I can show examples.

Thanks for the gold!
