Why do women always talk about their kids?

I’m genuinely perplexed by this. Women LOVE to talk about their children and it’s always the first thing they want to talk about when you meet another mom. I know I’m childfree so they know I won’t have anything to say in that regard but you’d think they want to build a friendship first before bringing up their kids 24/7. <br><br>I’m in a class at the moment and there’s 2 moms in their 40s there. All they do is talk about their kids. One of them has grown kids and still brags about how smart one of her daughters is and how she’s a doctor and the other one talks about how she’s dealing with teenage daughters and the problems she’s dealing with. <br><br>I don’t have kids, I have pets but I don’t want to talk about them constantly. Sometimes I just want to talk about tv shows/movies. <br><br>I just want to know why mothers do this. Do they think their kids are the only interesting thing ever? I’ve literally heard moms talk about what their kids eat. Who cares about that?!
