The strokes of these paintings look like three-dimensional ridges

My girlfriend sent me this painting and after the initial shock of it looking unrealistic, I was slightly disturbed and confused because the strokes of paint look three-dimensional. It doesn’t make sense to me that paint laid flat on a canvas could look like a different texture than the rest of the painting. Do you have any more links like this one? <br><br>I can’t post links but this painting came from [Richard Prince’s Instagram][0] and it’s called <br><br>“Stormy Daniels” by Richard Prince 2017-18.<br><br>Edit: <br><br>By three dimensional I mean in the painting you can see the ridges of the paint laid on top of a different texture that was previously painted. <br><br>I guess in every painting there would be ridges in the paint, but why does this painting look so different than any others?
