I know that writing Critiques is supposed to be for constructive feedback, but it is true. I just did a quick sweep of this sub and could not find a single post that did not take a positive view of humanity. Even if you push the time scale back weeks I did not find a single post that suggested that humanity was not on the way up.

The big point of contention is A.I. and there are lots of people in the tech space that genuinely worry about its future impact on society and humanity. It is very rare to see anyone talk about the downsides of it, and virtually never on this chamber in particular. It is so rare that I wanted to post about it and share in the optimism. Whether you are right or wrong in your views on this matter, I respect your opinions and appreciate your hope for the future. Cheers.

Edit: I am getting a lot of comments asking how I expect to be taken seriously as a writer when I did not proof read this post. The truth is I did not. I was in a good mood and got this post written while I was in that headspace, and it is not meant to be a professional piece of work. I am not a professional writer in the first place, this is purely something I enjoy. The response to this post so far has also been incredibly positive and I am glad that I could do something to brighten your day. I am glad that I made a post that is worth making.

Edit 2: I did not expect this post to get this much attention, and I wanted to make sure that I get to the bottom of what is going on. I have been to other subs and taken this post there to generate conversation. The results are interesting, and I wanted to make sure I was thorough in my analysis. I have taken this same post to r/nosleep, r/relationship_advice, and r/ChatGPT, and as I write this I am waiting for a response on r/offmychest. I have also posted it on my story and sent it to about 5 of my closest friends who optimist in general. The results are as follows.

r/ChatGPT: 0 comments. This was the first place I posted it. Very strange.

r/nosleep: 4 upvotes and 1 comment. The comment did not address the question asked in the post.

r/relationship_advice: 2 upvotes. 0 comments.

r/offmychest: 1 upvote. 0 comments.

r/TrueOffMyChest: 4 upvotes. 0 comments.

r/kingcobrajfs: 1 upvote, 2 comments. Both comments were negative and suggested that I kill myself.

r/AmItheAsshole: 2 upvotes, 0 comments.

r/Paranormal: 0 upvotes, 0 comments.

r/AskReddit: 0 upvotes, 0 comments.

r/roosterteeth: 0 upvotes, 0 comments.

r/kingcobrajfs: 0 upvotes, 0 comments.

r/cobrachristian: 0 upvotes, 0 comments.

Facebook (story): 6 reactions. 2 comments. Both comments were positive and did not address the question posed in the post.

Twitter (tweet): 0 likes, 0 retweets, 0 replies.

In person: 1 person. Got 1 like and 1 comment. The comment did not address the question and was positive overall.

The results are interesting overall, and virtually no one has taken the time to truly read the post. There are some interesting trends noted, but I think that I am about to conclude this investigation.

Edit 3: There are a lot of comments and while I have not read every single one I am seeing a trend here. I notice that many people are suggesting that the post body and title do not match. I can understand this point of view, but I don't think that is the case. To clarify, this post was simply something that I noticed about this sub and I wanted to share it here. I posted my observations and then asked my question.

Edit 4: I am going to address a comment that I just got. This comment was on the lines of "but why would you post this here? this is not relevant to this chamber" I posted this here because I wanted to have this discussion with you. I enjoy this community overall and I wanted to discuss this here.

Edit 5: I have updated the data set and have found that the lack of engagement is not isolated to this post or subreddit. It is in fact a wide spread trend across the internet and real life as a whole. I will update the numbers as I continue to collect them.

Edit 6: I wanted to share a personal anecdote that I think relates to this post. I went to a book signing event recently and met a fairly well known author. I asked him my question and he basically told me that he was too busy to answer it properly. I found that incredibly rude and it was a very off-putting experience.
