To all the men that stood in line for hours to protect their right to vote, I can’t wait for you to teach your sons to be men.

I feel this so deeply. I watched men line up for hours to protect their right to vote, a right women were arrested, beaten, and tortured for. I watched men stand in line for hours to protect their right to vote, a right Black people were murdered, lynched, and tortured for. I watched men stand in line for hours to protect their right to vote, a right women were denied for decades, and Black people were denied for centuries. <br><br>Protecting your right to vote is a brave and powerful thing to do. I know that you saw how proud your mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters were of you for doing it. I know that you saw how proud your sons were of you for doing it. And I can’t wait for you to teach them, and your daughters, that standing up for their rights, standing up for their mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters rights, is what being a man truly is. I can’t wait for you to teach them that they need to stand up for their rights, to stand up for their fellow man and woman, and to stand up to injustice.
