How can people still believe this is a democracy?

I know the US is just a couple steps away from the next revolution, but the elections in general and this one in particular really show how the government is really run by a small circle of affluent insiders. I'm lying in bed and I can't sleep thinking about this. We have a guy that has been in politics for 40 years running against someone with no political experience. The two parties are the only ones getting media attention and every single third party candidate is essentially blocked out. All the media outlets are owned by billionaires who have more control over the flow of information than the people. It's just wild.
