The best time management system is not a system at all.

So I've tried many different methods of organizing my time. All of them eventually fall by the wayside after a month or two. I've started to notice something that keeps occurring at the end of every method I've tried. I find some little trick, or little twist that makes the entire method "time management system" fall apart. I don't write it down, I don't tell anyone about it, and I never write it
down anywhere. It is something I just do in my head, and it stuck, and those little tricks start to add up and soon I've thrown out the entire time management system, as if it had never even existed. So, I think the best method of time management is just a series of tricks you learn, old habits you unlearn, and disciplines you develop overtime through trial and error.

So, what methods have you all used that you like? What's been the most effective time management system for you? What time management systems have you used that turned out to be complete failures?
