AITA for telling my dad to pay me back the money he borrowed from my savings to pay my brother’s gambling debt or I’ll report him for the missing money?

My grandpa left me and my brother (22) a substantial sum of money.  I realized that my brother would squander it so I put my money in a savings account. My brother went through his very quickly. He spent quite a bit of it  on stupid stuff and he also used some of it to pay on his gambling debt. (he’s  no longer gambling anymore)<br><br> My parents didn’t try and stop him. I’m not sure why. They also didn’t try and help him when he got in trouble with loan sharks. My grandpa died two years ago. After my brother’s alotment was gone he began asking me to lend him money but I said no. For a while he kept asking me but he’s not asked for a while. He’s doing better now in life. <br><br><br><br>So last week I went to the bank to get money for a new car. My brother saved up for months  and got a car too but that’s not what this is about. I noticed I was way shorter than I was supposed to be. I only spend a little bit of my inheritance. More than my brother but not that much. I asked the banker where all my money went. She showed me all these large withdrawals. I didn’t make them. I asked  her more questions and she told me if I didn’t make them I should call the police.<br><br>I went home. I asked my dad if he took the money. He said yes. He said  my brother was in trouble and he didn’t know what to do. He said he borrowed it but didn’t give me a date when he will pay me back.<br><br>I told him he had no right to touch my money. I said my brother was an adult and it wasn’t his job to bail him out.  he said he was desperate and he didn’t know what to do. He said he will pay me back. But I shouldn’t involve the police or my mom will find out. <br><br>If I report him he will get in a lot of trouble. I don’t want to do that. I  do want my money back though. I told him if he pays me back I won’t report him. If not I will and I’ll tell Mom as well. He said I need to give him time. I said fine but if I don’t get my money back in two weeks I’m reporting him. He said that was fair.<br><br>AITA for giving him an ultimatum?
