ELI5: Why are Stationary Bikes so expensive?

I get it, it’s a great workout and all of that. But a Peloton Bike is around 2 grand. Which is around the same price…as a car. An actual car. You can find a classic car or beater car or whatever you want to call it for the same price as a stationary bike. I don’t get it. I need some explaining.<br><br>edit: Holy shit!
