I need advice on how to handle this issue I'm having.

I'm having a problem and I don't know what to do. I assigned a variable "online" to "true" and then I assigned that same variable to "false". I have other variables that are assigned to "true" and they're not giving me problems except for "online". Everytime I launch my program this variable goes back to being "true". I need help to fix this issue. I'm using Python.
