There’s a lot of hype revolving around AI. This place is a good example. And after the massive success of ChatGPT, it feels like there’s been this collective concept of AI being able to replace humans in various professions and tasks.

And after AI-generated art like Midjourney and DALL-E, people have been saying that AI art is so good that it will replace human artists. However, a large number of people have been skeptical about this. This skepticism isn’t unjustified. AI has been painted as this magical thing that can do practically anything, and it isn’t as good as everyone says it is.

But they will be proven wrong in the future. With all the hype surrounding AI, there’s going to be massive investments into the field. The quality of AI-generated art is going to improve at a ridiculous pace. It may be good now, but it’s going to get much better in the future.

A lot of people know this. And after looking at today’s AI art and knowing that it’s going to get much better in the future, people are going to start to question the validity of human-created art. Let me explain.

Right now, looking at AI-generated art may be convincing, but it’s not at the quality of professional art. It’s quite obvious that a picture or a portrait was generated by AI. However, in the future, AI-generated art is going to be indistinguishable from human-created art. If you see a realistic portrait or painting, it’s going to be very difficult to tell if it was created by a human or AI. We’re basically going to live in a world where the line between reality and AI is going to be blurred to the point of nonexistence.

But this is going to make people question the validity of human-created art. Let’s say you see a beautiful seascape painting. It’s very realistic and the quality is very good. You’re probably going to assume that it was generated by AI. But what if it was actually created by a human? How will you be able to tell? And if you can’t tell, what’s the point of creating the painting?

This may seem like a ridiculous thing to say. Art has been a cornerstone of human culture for thousands of years. The quality of art isn’t the only thing that matters. There’s also the sentimental value and the concept of human expression. Painting is one of the many ways humans can express themselves. And it’s true that you can’t replicate the sentimental value or the human touch in an AI-generated painting.

However, these things don’t matter in today’s society. Our society is based around one simple thing: efficiency. The most efficient and cost-effective solution to a problem is the best. AI can create practically anything, and it can do it at a much faster pace and at a much lower quality than a human. With all the hype surrounding AI, there’s going to be a massive shift towards AI in our society. This is going to impact art.

AI will be able to create anything practically. AI-generated portraits, paintings, sculptures, and other art will be indistinguishable from human-created art. AI will be able to create said art at a much faster pace and at a much lower cost than human artists. And with all the hype surrounding AI, AI will be given priority over human art.

We’re going to live in a world where art is indistinguishable from reality, and human-created art isn’t relevant.
