These two moms at Disney World may have saved my kid

Our family recently went to Disney World for vacation. My wife and I were in one of the parks with our three year old, and we were getting ready to start the day by going on a ride. The line for this ride was in an outdoor, exposed area that was partially covered by a roof. While we were in line, my son had to use the bathroom. The lines were often long and slow moving, so I didn't want to pull him out of line to take him to the bathroom, only for him to miss his turn on the ride.

To solve this problem, I told my son to pee in his underwear. It was already warm out, so we hadn't dressed him in pants that day. I figured since he was already wearing shorts, it wouldn't be a big deal for him to pee in them. I told him to go in the area, right next to me, where no one else was standing.

He started peeing, and a mom standing nearby says loudly, "Ewwww! What the hell is wrong with you people? You're letting your kid pee on the ground at Disney World? How disgusting!" Then some other mom in the line, who had heard this, piped in, "Yeah! How gross! You're doing this at *Disney*? What is wrong with your people?" Other people started staring at us, and I could tell there was an uproar starting to form nearby about my kid peeing in his shorts.

I said, "He had to go, so I told him to go over there." Then a few bystanders in the line said things like, "You call yourself a parent? Unbelievable," or "Do you always housebreak your kid outside?" Some teenage girls nearby were going, "Ewwww!" Then a few people in the line started moving away from us and giving us weird looks.

After my son finished, I took him into the ride, where we joined the rest of the family. A few minutes later, a couple moms approached me, separately. The first mom came up and said, "I couldn't keep quiet about this. I'm so sorry, but I have to say something. Is your boy ok? I overheard you saying how you told him to pee on the ground, and how you made him go over there? I'm sorry, but that's just completely wrong. You shouldn't make your kid do that. It's not his fault he had to go." Then the second mom said, "I couldn't believe what I heard, either. How would you like it if someone made you pee on the ground like that? You should be ashamed of yourself."

After these two moms left and went on their way, my son tugged on my pants and said, "Daddy, I'm thirsty." I said, "Let's go get you a bottle of water. We'll be right back," and I took him outside the ride. When we were outside, out of earshot from the family, I asked him, "Do you want to tell me a secret?" He said, "Yeah!" I went on, "Remember when you asked me if you could go to the bathroom, and I told you to pee over there? Who *really* told you to go to the bathroom?" He said, "A lady." I pressed for more details, and he said the lady was standing behind him in line. I said, "What did she say to you?" He repeated, verbatim, what the lady had said. "Ma'am, you need to go to the bathroom. Go pee over there."

I asked my son to describe the lady to me, and he pointed to a lady standing nearby. When we rejoined the family, I found my wife and told her what my son had just told me. Then I pointed out the lady my son had identified to my wife, and she recognized the lady as one of the moms from the line who had gone off on me. I said, "That's the lady who told him to pee!"

Then it all made sense. This was no ordinary bathroom break. The way my son had specifically said he needed to go to the bathroom, the way he was instructed to go in a specific spot, the way two moms had given me shit for it afterwards. My son had almost been kidnapped at Disney World, and these two moms had been in on it. I'm just thankful that these two moms didn't let it go. They knew something was fishy, and they wanted me to know.
