How would you handle a parent being mad because one of your students called their child a jerk for stealing something?

I had one parent get mad at me for telling a parent that their child is a bully. This was the only time I ever had a parent get mad at me. I had a kid take something from another kid. The kid who got their item took was very upset so I stepped in to ask the one who took it to give it back to them. The one who took it gave it back. The kid who was victimized got upset and called the one who took it a jerk. I admit I could have handled it badly. The parent of the bully called me and said that I was a bad teacher for calling their child a bully. <br><br>What would you do in a situation like this?
