Feedback on my writing is always strongly negative—I’m at a loss for how to improve

I’m a mid-twenties male and I’ve been interested in writing for the last ten years or so, but recently, the only places where I get feedback on my writing are Reddit.

I’m not a native English speaker, I write mostly in German, but I’d like to write in English since I don’t want to be limited to a German audience. My German writing also gets mostly negative criticism, but it’s not as bad as my English writing.

I’ve been to three writing groups and each time, they strongly disliked my writing and these writing groups were also in German. I’ve tried to improve by taking classes, reading books on writing, and I’ve also been using AI writing tools to improve my writing.

I’ve recently posted on r/nosleep and these are the comments I got (since deleted, because the moderators didn’t like me posting a link to my Instagram as I don’t use Chambers to post):
- This is the most poorly written thing I've seen on this sub. I'm impressed actually.
- I gave up at the second sentence because of how poorly it was written. Sorry man try harder.
- This looks like a automated Google translation of a bits and pieces of other comments, topped with some extremely poorly written original writing. Unrealistic on both ends.

I also posted on r/relationship_advice as I wrote a story about a true experience I had and these are the comments I got:
- The writing style here is extremely odd. I’m not sure if you’re trolling or not. If so bravo good job. If you’re serious then I would suggest getting a professional opinion. I’m glad you got out and I’m sorry this happened to you. You sound very immature.
- I have to second this. The writing style seems extremely odd and the story seems like a throwaway.
- I’ve never seen anyone talk like this I’m 14 and I know this is fake
- I’m sorry if this is real for you but bits of this story are so ridiculous that it’s either fake or you’re using hyperbole which you shouldn’t be doing in this situation.
