Throwaway because I don't want my friends to see this on my main if they browse this sub.

I seriously don't even know what to say. So, last night I went to my girlfriends house to surprise her with some food and she just out of nowhere told me that she thinks we should go our own ways and that she's not sure we are compatible and that we should break up and remain friends and stuff. I was absolutely blown away by this because just the night before she was in my arms and we did everything, love, cuddles, passions, you know how it is.

I asked her what specifically made her come to this conclusion and after some hesitation and crying she told me that one of her friends, who I know, went on a holiday in the Mediterranean with her boyfriend and they were staying in a villa with another couple who she and her boyfriend didn't know but who were in their 20's as well. And she said that they've met a couple of times for drinks and dinner and stuff and that one night we were all drinking and somehow the conversation about anal play came up and the girl said that she likes it and that she and her boyfriend have been practising it for more than a year.

Than my girlfriends friends said that she always wanted to try it but her boyfriend isn't into it. And apparently the other girl suggested that they should switch boyfriends for a day just to see how it is and my girlfriend friends told me that she was hesitant at first but ultimately decided to do it because she said she had never felt her boyfriend manipulating her anus and she was curious about the experience.

My girlfriend then told me that she always found the idea of this act degrading and disgusting and that she never wanted to do it but now, after hearing her friends stories, she thinks that she has been missing out and that we should try it as well, at least once, to satisfy her curiosity and that I should be the one penetrating her because she would never go behind my back like her friend did.

I was absolutely shocked. I told her that I wasn't really comfortable doing this and that I had no intentions of doing it to her and she started crying and eventually broke up with me. I left and came to my own place and we haven't talked since. It's crazy, never ever did I think that something like this would break us up. I mean, yes we would do things in the bedroom, play around with BDSM and toys and stuff, but anal play always felt like a big red flag to me. I don't know, I don't even care if she thinks I'm a prude.

Has anyone ever had an experience like this? Where something so seemingly small is able to break a whole relationship?

EDIT: I wasn't clear that I was the one expected to do the penetrating, not her. So, I was just expected to put stuff up her ass or my fingers or something. I don't know. I'm just not into it.
