What is up with all these YouTube ads glorifying the military?

Pretty much every single time I have an ad on YouTube, it's for the Navy, Army, Air Force, etc with "AMERICA IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH, JOIN OUR MILITARY AND FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!!" and I'm sitting there on my phone in the middle of nowhere New Mexico going "what the fuck? no way in hell". Is it this common for countries to openly recruit into their armed forces and glorify war and all that? I always thought that was like some weird-as-shit-an outlier thing.<br><br>&#x200B;
