Got a redeye from SF to NYC. Flight was delayed 1 hour so I had to wait another hour to board. Arrived at 6am. My flight was at 10:30pm. Its 9am where I am now. I'm feeling pretty tired and my dad, who took me to the airport, is tired as well.

**Pro Tips:**

1. **Earplugs** - the sound of the plane is pretty much inaudible at cruising altitude, which makes it a lot easier to fall asleep. I woke up a few times to the sound of the flight attendants throwing luggage into the overhead compartments.

2. **Noise Canceling Headphones** - I got the more expensive pair of Bose headphones, the ones without noise canceling, just to realize that I got the wrong ones (NC 700 instead of QC 45). Regardless, I was able to drown out a lot of noise with the music so I didn't have to worry about the noise canceling. I would recommend them anyway.

3. **Eye Mask** - I was able to fall asleep with my eye mask, a pretty cheap one from target.

4. **Seat** - I got a window seat. WAY better than an aisle seat. I had less people waking me up because they needed to get out of their seats. I'd either wake up and see a person waiting to get out, or I'd be woken up by a flight attendant telling me to let the person out. I would rather see them waiting to get out and let them out, so they don't bother the flight attendant.

5. **Pillows** - The plane pillows they give you are pretty useless. I would suggest bringing one of those inflatable pillows. I didn't have one but I saw someone else with one (they were actually sleeping!) and it looked a lot more comfortable than the plane pillows.

6. **Sleeping Aids** - I'm not sure if its okay to post about this, but if you have trouble sleeping on planes, you should try Melatonin. Its completely legal and natural. Melatonin is pretty safe and can be purchased at any drugstore or supermarket, so you don't need a prescription. You can also get it in gummy format. I think its pretty safe. I took 2 before the flight (one was supposed to be taken but I took 2 because I couldn't sleep on my first flight and was too anxious to fall asleep, this flight was much better).

7. **Water Bottle** - Stay hydrated. Bring an empty water bottle through security, and ask the flight attendants to fill it up. I had trouble sleeping because my sinuses were killing me. I eventually drank some water and was able to fall asleep.

8. **Chargers** - Bring a portable phone charger. I saw a few people struggle with finding outlets. Its a lot easier to just use a portable charger.

9. **Clothing** - Wear comfortable clothing. I wore sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt, but most people were wearing hoodies. Its freezing on planes but they give you a blanket.

10. **Boarding** - If you have a window seat or a seat that isn't aisle, board LAST. I boarded around group 4 (there were 7 or 8 groups if I remember correctly) and there was hardly anyone. I saw a lot of people board early, only to wait in the aisle and block people on the plane.
