AITA for asking my boyfriend to stop buying me flowers everyday?

I have been with my bf for 5 years. Last year he got a very good job and started earning a lot. After he started earning so well he had started bringing home a bouquet of flowers for me everyday. I think he saw it in a video on the internet. I was extremely touched by the gesture initially and felt special. After 2 weeks it was getting too repetitive. He would ask me everyday "did I like the flowers today?". I always said yes because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I felt like he was doing it more for himself than for me. Plus the flowers were also just going to waste after 2 days. It was so excessive.

I hinted to him that he didn't have to do it everyday but he literally didn't get the hint. So I sat him down one day and told him that I wasn't feeling special with everyday flowers. I even told him that I felt like he was doing it more for himself than for me. He defended himself and said he was just trying to show that he was a good bf. I told him that I knew that but it would be nice if he did other things for me. He looked really defensive and told me to write a list of all the things that I liked and he would do it.

I wrote a whole list. Things like "surprise me with lunch" "let's go ice skating" "plan a trip" etc. He did everything on the list but I could tell he was pissed off at me. He would always include flowers in every surprise. Like if he planned a surprise picnic there would be a bouquet of flowers there too. He just won't listen to me and says that I should be more romantic and I'm taking flowers for granted. He even told me to sell the flowers if I didn't like them so much. AITA for asking him to stop buying me flowers?
