I'm done. I've reached the point where I think the term is counterproductive. The word has been hijacked by charlatans who claim to have the secret to getting more done in less time. Newsflash: there is no secret.

Productivity is a myth. You do work, or you do not. Simple enough.

I'm done reading articles with clickbait titles about productivity, and finding products that claim to help you be more productive. If you spend 15 minutes searching for an app to help you manage your time, you could have spent that time working.

I follow this chamber because people occasionally post things that are actually useful. However, most of the posts are about apps or other junk that claim to increase your productivity.

**Edit:**
Wow. I did not expect this to get so much traction. Thank you all for your thoughtful comments. **You're right, I'm wrong.** While my post was an overreaction to my frustration with the recent trends, I've come to realize that I was too harsh.

While I still don't believe there is a "secret" to productivity, the word still holds value. Productivity is not a myth, and if it was, there would be no reason for this chamber to exist.

Thank you to those of you who constructively pointed out my mistakes, and those of you who shared your stories about how the notion of productivity has genuinely improved your lives.

**tl;dr:**
I take it all back.
