Cry For Help

My friend and I are taking an AP Government class and he is struggling with the class so much. He has failed every grade and is at least getting a B on the weekly quizzes. But he is struggling so bad with “assessments” where you do a bunch of short answers and essays. Every one he has gotten back so far, he has scored a 1/10. And I can see why because I’ve read his answers and they are like first grade level. Not a single complete sentence in sight. I’ve offered to help him but he calls me a nerd when I try to. I don’t know what to do anymore. For context he is also in a special Ed program. Please help me here.
