So yesterday my wife told me about this new student organization at her university, that she joined. They wrie a student newspaper, organize events and so on. Now the head of the student org told her and a couple other new members not to join open access groups, because they dont want to become "like them". Then he told them that they are actively working on reporting the open access groups and get them shut down, because they "steal the other students' work and rise on their success" and "causing a lot of harm for no reason". This really made me mad, because many open-access groups are not only really useful for students, but also made by students.

Now I am wondering wether the wifes student org really sues the open access groups or if they report them anonymously. Do you know?
